2017 Coachella made it big debut when it was confirmed in June 2016 that Icon Beyonce will be headlining the upcoming festival. Beyonce was set to be the first female headliner since 2007  Björk performance.  However, when Beyonce announced her twin pregnancy it raised concern on the amount of shows Beyonce will continue to do.  After gracing the grammy stage in February, speculation arose whether Beyonce would continue with the Coachella performance. Following Dr. Orders, Beyonce removed herself from Coachella 2017 but she left us all with great hope stating that she will be back within the line up for 2018. The Bey-Hive is set to swarm Indio City for their queen. I don't know about you guys but my ticket is already on Pre- Sale.

As all music festivals go, the increasing amount of people within an area is bound to cause some disruptions Coachella 2017 was no different. Both weekend saw many arrests ,but weekend two had more arrest than weekend one. The main charges were for drugs and alcohol. However, this year saw an increasing spike in cellphone thief's. Indio City law enforcement found nearly 40 cellphones, and weekend one had a thief with almost 100 stolen cellphones. The thief's were caught by iPhone users utilizing the "Find My IPhone" app. There was also a spike within  credit card, cash and other personal possessions  among the Coachella grounds. If someone lost something during the Coachella weekends, all items found by the law enforcement have been turned to the Coachella Lost and Found.

DJ Khaled brings his Icons to the Coachella stage

Social Media Muva Dj Khaled initially hinted that he was confirmed for the 2017 line up on his snap back in October of 2016. He hit the Coachella stage on day 3 and of course he brought out his friends to assist him. Dj Khaled set included performances by 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Migos, A$AP Ferg, French Montana, and Wale. The crowd went wild as for any Dj Khaled concert which is always filled with many surprise guest. Khaled played several Jay Z track which sparked the assumption that possibly HOV would perform. For many, Dj Khaled’s set was a bit confusing raising question of how involved he was during his own set. But for any Dj Khaled concert is him playing other artist music and having other artist perform as if he was actually spinning records.  Khaled later took to instagram to thank Coachella for having him and even hinted that possibly he will become a headliner in the Coachella years to come.

King Kendrick reigns over his Home State Desert

The hip Hop heavyweight Kendrick Lamar fresh off his third album DAMN took to the Coachella main stage in his first headlining. His set was nothing less than amazing. Kendrick Lamar’s set was notable the most visually appealing with periods of times he was seen levitating. Lamar’s coachella experiences provided fans with non stop energy and excitement. The California native has reached a point within his career in which all of his three albums have songs that still demand the same response. Lamar brought out Travis Scott to perform their chart tops hit "Goosebumps". Lamar also  brought  out Future for a  brief  intermission to  perform  his song "Mask Off" which has been receiving constant radio play. Following the ending of the Coachella weekneds, Lamar posted on his Instagram the brand new 17 city tour that him and Travis Scott will be on.

What's Coachella without fashion

Image
This years Coachella fashion lineup remained true to its festival flowers but other trends shined bright. The newest hair craze of glitter roots served as an enhancement towards   outfit and add an usual sighting. The festival ground were filled with bathrobes and kimonos that left many confused but “hey its Coachella so why not”.    The “hey its coachella so why not” motto didn't stretch throughout ever fashion choice.   Some festival goers were also seen wearing native american headdress, that also left many stunned despite outcries of cultural appropriation. This was mainly seen within the Vip area where the tickets go for $900.00. Is cultural appropriation not a factor to those who are in a seclude section? Would they have still chosen the headdress if they were walking about the entire Coachella camp?. I would think NOT!
